Creating Content for Digital Signage

David will address the fundamentals that differentiate media created for digital signage from media used for narrowcast or web communications. He will focus on ways to create an effective marketing communications strategy using the technology and aesthetic impact of digital signage.

David joined Keywest Technology in 1999 as Director of Marketing. With applied science degrees in electronics and marketing, David is a well recognized speaker in the digital signage field, and holds a charter position on the Digital Signage Council.

The Atlas Center at CU

Students and faculty in every department at CU can use The Atlas Center’s high end digital technology, studios, and presentation systems. Bruce will describe the concept of The Atlas Center and the various opportunities for technology to enhance the learning experience.

Bruce Henderson taught new media technologies for 7 years at CU, and was instrumental in the design, development and usage of The Atlas Center.

Second Life Business Opportunities
Mark Dubin, 3D Embodiment

Second Life (www.secondlife.com) is an Internet-based, three-dimensional "meta-universe" where participants can play, train, explore, learn and purchase products. It is one of the most successful "Web 2.0" applications, in which users can generate content as well as just view it. Mark will describe Second Life, and discuss ways that businesses and individuals can have a presence in this exciting venue.

Mark Dubin retired after 36 years as a Professor of MCD Biology, at CU Boulder. He has made numerous presentations relating to the brain and to cognitive aspects of 3D visualization. Mark Dubin is "Threedee Shapherd" in SL.

3D Embodiment provides complete life-size, immersive, three-dimensional display systems and graphical content (virtual reality) for companies, planners and museums. 3DE "owns" an island in Second Life (SL)

This session will provide an overview of the distribution of content across multiple platforms, including online, mobile and Video-on-Demand. In addition, Richard will include insight as to how each medium can – and should – affect the way you craft your message.

As Vice President of Operations, Richard oversees the Comcast Media Center’s services for traditional and new media, including linear and live event television origination and emerging services such as VOD, eTV, iTV and store and forward operations.

Building an HD Studio

Comcast Media Center (CMC) completely upgraded its 6400 square foot studio to HD, using state of the art production equipment This compliments its recent HD enhancements to CMC’s audio and postproduction suites. Get first hand insight into what it takes to create a successful HD studio from the CMC executive who supervised the effort.

Bruce Marshall is Comcast Media Center’s Production Manager and Chief Digital Audio Engineer. He provides technical and creative leadership for CMC’s television production and postproductions facilities.

In courtrooms around the county, attorneys rely on qualified legal videographers for recording depositions, day-in-the-life documentaries, expert witness testimonies, and more. In many cases, they require that the videographer be “Certified” and know the rules of Civil Procedure and the Rules of Evidence which are required in every court. Gayle will review the ways to achieve this certification and how it can help your video business grow and expand.

The American Guild of Court Videography was founded in 1995, and is now the only organization that trains and certifies videographers to produce legal products that will be accepted in every court in the nation.

Henry has been a guest speaker at numerous conferences including the Associated Press, Managing Editor's Conference, The American Society of Newspaper Editors conference and the Citizens Media Summit.
